How to stop finite acquisition when before declared number of images is not reached?

I want to give a number of pictures to acquire with external trigger, lets say e.g. 10. When the external trigger only gives e.g. 7 pulses I want the acquisition respectively the for loop to stop, so I can continue with the image processing (in the included vi it should just end the program, so no further processing is here given).

Important: I don't know how many trigger signals are coming, only that the number won't reach the from me given maximum. So I have to react when no pictures are any more acquired, so the program can continue.

I have created a conditional terminal with a stop button, the problem now is that after pressing the stop button the for loop still will wait until another external trigger signal arrives and first then will quit the acquisition and go on. I can not give this extra external signal, so I have to be able to overcome this problem inside LabVIEW.

Thanks in advance!

Sam
