Cannot connect Lookout with Modbus tcpip using a crossed cable (direct PC to Datalogger). Error - host not found! Lookout 4.0.1b51 in win98.

Can you ping the modbus device at the designated IP address? If not, this is most likely a network problem.

Ping works without any problems. Using the Eurotherm software works fine!

I have heard there is a bug in the tcp/ip mode of the modbus object prior to Lookout 4.5.1 build 18 with the latest fixes applied. It did not connect for me until after the fixes were applied. I would recommend contacting NI support directly to see if this could be an issue.
