Hello everybody,
I'm novice in linux environment 😞 and I'm trying to install on OpenSuse 11.0:
- NI LabVIEW 8.6.1
- NI DAQmx 8.0.1
- NI KAL 1.9
All installations are complete and successfull.
I have made an update of NI Drivers.
But, when I open the terminal and type
nilsdev
I encounter the error below:
"libnipalu.so failed to initialize
Perhaps you need to run updateNIDrivers
Aborted"
I have read the different messages on NI Developer Zone but no solution should be help me for the moment.
I need install 3 NI PCI Cards (NI PCO-6229 and NI PCI-6703) ...
Thank you for your help
Yann

Have you tried to run updateNIDrivers? If so what did it say? Did you get any errors? Note you will need to run updateNIDrivers using su or sudo or as the root user. After running it you will need to reboot the machine.
Regards,
Neil

Very well, would you like us to continue guessing what could be happening, or would you like to provide us with more information? Perhaps you could have even told us which DevZone articles you read...
What messages do you see in your kernel/dmesg logs about NI modules?
What is the console output for updateNIDrivers?

Attaching the output of niSystemReport would be useful. Just "su" to become root then run:
niSystemReport > report.log
gzip report.log
Then attach the report.log.gz file to your forum post.
