PID toolkit won't install with CVI 6.0 on Win2K/NTFS volume

Anybody have any idea why the LabWindows/CVI PID toolkit won't install on my Win2K Pro SP3 system? Using PID toolkit P/N 776991-01 Version 1.1 and setup floppy disk for Win32 (P/N 500449A-00)

Setup program says insufficient disk space - that I need at least "0 bytes available".

File system is NTFS and the volume has 60GB free.

After spending $300 for the toolkit, I was kinda hoping it would at least install OK 😉

Hello,

The PID toolkit installer was written with old technology. It has a bug in that it can not handle over 4GB of free space without starting to read negative. This seems to only occur on WinNT and Win2K. I get it to work on WinXP just fine.

If you would give me your personal email address I will send you the files it installs and how to install them properly.

Thanks Jeff, I kindof thought that this might be the case due to the "zero bytes needed" error message.

Jeff-

I installed the toolkit onto an NT system and then simply copied the files over onto the Win2K system. Everything appears to be working.

Thanks for your help - too bad this isn't mentioned in the readme file, it would have saved me (and others I imagine) a lot of hassle.

It is an issue with the PID toolkit installer. There is nothing I can tell you other that to try and find a computer with a disk smaller than 4GB. Then copy the files over. If this is not an option, I can zip the files and send them to you.
Please provide me with:
Name
Company
Product
Serial#
