Has anyone tried to use Matrikon's AllenBradley OPC server to interface between a LabWindows/CVI datasocket application and an AB CompactLogix PLC? We currently use the NI OPC, but at $3000.00 for a license, there must be another way.
You can use the Network Variable Library (NVE engine) to make an OPC DA Server. I have not made a client using the NVE system, but it should be possible.
