Has anyone out there written any drivers for a Serial Infrared Dongle? I have an Actisys ACT-IR220L device that I would like to control via a CVI program but don't know where to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Is this under Windows 95? If so you want to download the Windows 95 Infrared Communications Driver Version 2.0 from their website. It takes care of the IR handshaking. You simply open up the "virtual" serial port assigned by the IR driver when it is loaded. Communicatoin through the IR dongle to any irda compatible device is then done as if it was just another serial port. I used an Actisys dongle under this operating system using CVI without any problems.
Good luck
