Hello Wolfgang,
Thank you for bringing this issue to my attention. We uncovered that while CVI 2020f3 is supported on Windows 11, during the installation a version of PXI Platform Services driver is installed that is not compatible with Windows 11. Users should first download this driver separately and then install CVI 2020f3. I have updated the known issues to reflect this problem and to hopefully provide a path toward successful installation in the future.

Hello Everyone,
I’m happy to announce that LabWindows/CVI 2026 Q3 is scheduled for release in the coming months! We are working on updating the main NI website with the most up to date information on versions in mainstream support but expect to see this new version of CVI reflected on the website soon.
As soon as it is live, I will show it to my HQ to prove LabWindows is not dead and buried.
And bonus points if they add some command-line options for building an installer. Automating that would be great. In the year 2026, I am not used to having to manually run an GUI and click stuff manually to make a build.

Hi Xavier,
thanks for the update! Can we expect a public beta as in the past or are the expected changes too marginal to justify this effort?
Thanks,
Wolfgang

NI Package Manager 2026 Q3 ís there, but I haven't seen an updated NI web site with respect to CVI 🤔

Don't panic. LabVIEW 2026Q3 hasn't been officially released yet either. I guess they are busy building installers and finding installation bugs.

They did it. Amazing! Let's hope it is not just the final action before pulling the plug in the bathtub definitely.

I couldn't resist and did a test install: while the documentation that comes with the download version 2026 Q3 is dated from 2020 there is at least one change: 2026 Q3 installs on Windows 11 Pro 25 H2 without the issues reported earlier

Well, installed the 2026 version last night in trial mode (45 days).
For me, it looks a lot like the 2020 version... just with a new "About" menu (2026 🤣).
Comparing the installation folders (2020 vs. 2026) nearly nothing change except recompiled files (many have the same size, with the same number of byte).
The same bugs are still there in the source files (toolslib\toolbox\menuutil.c). Past tickets and recent inquiries... were of no use.
Even the same examples of "new features" from 2020 are present 😂.
What a disappointment... though a predictable one.
Anyway, personally, I think we'll be keeping our money 😪.
Unless, of course, the specific technical improvements are listed for us .
