Pardon my frankness, but why don’t you post your plans and delivery statements on your official website? This would make them more official and boost customers’ confidence in your products. As you know, aided by AI, your products are becoming increasingly outdated, and a growing number of users are abandoning your ecosystem. Not to mention, NI have hired a bunch of mediocre and lazy employees engineer. The software you released is getting bulkier by the day, and you’re failing to keep your promises more and more frequently. You are squandering the precious legacy of the founder.

This is the (reported) bug that annoys me most:

Hello CVI Community,

I would like to reassure the community of the authenticity surrounding the message of continued mainstream support for CVI. I am the new acting product manager for LabWindows/CVI, Vision, and various LabVIEW toolkits and modules.

I found your LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/xavier-dukes-87130b193/

We have both worked for Emerson 😉

I need some kind of official document or web page I can provide to my upper management about the status of LabWindows. Is there anything I can point them to?

Very agree @AllenInIowa  mentioned solution. As user i need confirm from technical view and also more important is to convince my boss and buyer the product is reliable. The message from NI's forums is not enough.

I really hope NI's product and marketing employee study enough VOC/voice  of custom survey.

Hello,

It's been almost two months since you announced the return of support of LabWindows/CVI.

Is it possible to get some news soon (hopefully reassuring 😀), even if only partial, regarding progress, forecasts, etc... like a roadmap ?

Many of us have suspended our investments in this product (and maybe others too... like us), while continuing to use it ... but for how long ?

I understand the situation, but after five years without any updates, the wait is very long and, above all, unbearable.

And we need to plan our budgets for the coming year.

I really hope to read from you before the end of this year.

Thanks.

Another month has passed, and nothing seems to have changed.
Every day that passes confirms the bad feelings I've had since day one.😓
Convince me I was wrong, if you can.

Hello,

I have been using CVI since 92(I think), it is a great product, especially for those of us who like to program with text and not VIs.

CVI needs to be enhanced with the ability to use LLMs!   I have used Claude with great success to program in CVI, but it would be supper efficient if it had the ability to chat with in the IDE, similar to VS Code.

This is much more efficient than Labview ever will be, and oit ffers great potential that you will gain from having a good LLM as your coach.

being able to integrate with Ollama or LM Studio would also be a plus.

Bring CVI into the future, IT IS THE FUTURE, again.   I know this is a problem for NI, but from my perspective, Lab View is dead in the age of AI coding LLMs.

integrate CVI with Ollama, LM Studio, or VS Code extensions for CVI.

This is a huge opportunity for you guys!

@TerryMoss: I have the feeling you're wasting time and money on a dying horse.
Yes, we've all grown fond of it, but I think it's time to look elsewhere.
The effort to keep this near-corpse alive, using new technologies, would be a waste of time and resources diverted from finding a real solution. Especially since we have to find it ourselves: NI has shown its interests lie elsewhere.
It's their business, I wish them 1,000 years of success, but I'm too burned to be optimistic or to want to be mocked again.

The fact that LabView is a total loser in the LLM coding era is a given; I fully agree with you.
In reality, it was already a loser before, because it doesn't allow for any structured and modern approach to software engineering, and development on it relies solely on diseconomies, such as the use of volunteer, typically unpaid, but differently motivated staff (undergraduates, PhD students, and the like).
I don't know if this is just my experience, but "I've seen things you people wouldn't believe" (cit.)
