Thank you for the additional information. It might be helpful to try the following:
1. Run the code for your original application without remote front panels - does the memory of LabVIEW increase?
2. While running the code for your test application, close the remote front panels - does LabVIEW memory decrease?
Could you please post a screen shot of your VI?

There are an awful lot of rundll32.exe 's showing up in that task manager. I'm wondering if that is related.

I was able to identify this as a known issue with LabVIEW 2009. This was reported to R&D (#182590) and was fixed in LabVIEW 2010. Here is the link to the current evaluation software download for LabVIEW. I apologize for the inconvenience.
