visa32.dll compatibility with TestExec

Hi,

I install Labview 8.0 on my PC after I installed TestExec 5.1. Before the installation of LabVIEW, my TestExec was working. After the installation, I get a lot of error message, that TestExec can't find anymore the handle to my hardware. I seem to be, that the visa32.dll of TestExec has been overwrotten by the installation of LabVIEW.
How can I solve this problem?

Cheers,
Risotto

As the installer of LabView 8 will ask for the driver CD at the end of the install-process, I guess it installed the latest version of Visa on your system.
I would recommend to reinstall Test Executive after the installation of LabView 8, and masscompile the Test Executive folder afterwards.

Test Executive was designed for LabView 5.1, so I would recommend to migrate to TestStand sooner or later. Here you can find information about TestStand:

hope this helps

Hi,

Sure it helps: now our TestExec is running again.

But the point is, that we need to run TestExec for some kind of tests and TestStand for other kind of tests on the same machine.

Do you know a possibility to set the NI-VISA to be compatible with TestExec?

Cheers,
