visa configure from network

I have a simple vi trying to configure a serial port.

No errors running from my local disk.

When I copy this vi to a network drive I get error 1: Property Node (arg 1) in VISA Configure Serial Port (Instr).vi->OpenComm.vi

I'm trying to find info why this is happening and how to fix it.

Hello KimT,

Please share the VI that you're using.

Error 1 is quite general, so based on this it's not possible to say with any certainty what is going wrong.

Most likely there's something going wrong in the way that the VI refers to the COM-port.

Hi

Thanks for your reply.

It is just a simple vi with the VISA Configure Serial Port (instr).vi in it.

When I run this from my local disk it returns no error.

When I copy this vi to a network disk it returns error 1.

Hello KimT,

I have been out of office the last week (on vacation).

Therefore, I only have been able to do some tests today.

Everything works perfect from our network drives here.

Do you get the same error if you try to run it from a USB-key?

Is the network drive on another pc or on a server?
