use GPIB-USB-B with suse 13.1

I'm trying to use a GPIB-USB-B with openSUSE 13.1, but unfortunately, no driver exists. Drivers exist for different versions of openSUSE, or drivers for different GPIB's work with 13.1. I've tried different drivers, but to no avail. Changing my operating system would also be very difficult and buying a different GPIB adapter would cost too much money. Does anyone have a suggestion on how to work around this issue?

This can and will happen with obsolete equipment on new operating systems.  Yes, that device is obsolete and 488.2 version 3.2 (Current) dropped support for that device on linux.  If you tried version 2.9.1 and it did not work, you have to either modernize your device or, down grade your up-to-date OS.

It would be nice if NI (and every vendor) maintained support for all equipment for ever but, that is a pipe-dream.  On the plus side, at least you aren't trying to work with Windows 3.1 on a 286 16 bit processor:)
