Looks like the vi was saved without the block diagram.

What Happens When I Save My VI and Remove Diagrams?

In short, you need to find the old code from before the VI was saved without a block diagram.

Hi,

My problem is by accident the VI saved without block diagram.

1. What did I do wrong to save it without block diagram?

2. Now, it saved without block diagram how can I bring it back to normal that I can edit it?

Thanks,

You cannot!  once the block diagram is gone, its gone!  There is no way to "Get it back" it is really gone! it does not exist.  You threw away the data needed to construct the block diagram.  There is no magic wand, to get that data back.  As previously explained you cannot edit a vi saved without a block diagram.

Now, as to what you did wrong to save a vi without a block diagram "By accident"  I have no idea.  Saving a vi without a block diagram is never an accident!  In fact,  it requires you to select a "super hard to find" radio button in a build specification then deploy the build!  Even then, only the deployed version will be saved without the block diagram and the project from which the build was built will still have all of the original source code.

so, you need to speak to your software provider and see if they will let you have the source code.  Bring heavy metal  (Gold, Lead and Uranium are some of the better choices of metals that will convince people to part with their intellectual property)

In another post of yours, you built an exe. This removes the block diagrams. I'm not sure how you did your build but perhaps your new project is pointing to the new and modified VIs. The original VIs should still exist unless you deleted them. If you are using source code control, then simply restore them. If you're not and you did delete them, you can't do anything with your existing VI.

Hi,

It is my own source code for a driver & it accidently saved without block diagram. I don't even know when & why it happen until now I want to add more options but can not edit it. Do I have to re-wrote the new driver for this instrument?

Thanks

probably not! One of these 2400's is probably your instrument and these drivers exist.

( it Helps if you provide the instrument manufacturer and model when you are speaking about an instrument driver)
