My PXI-8186 system refuses to boot in RT mode. It says :"Rebooting due to system error. Redirecting output to logfile"...and the screen hangs there. From the host computer, it appears that there is a software error.
Is your 8186 a dual boot controller and have you previously booted it into RT mode? If you have then the first action would be to uninstall all the software from the controller through MAX. Boot into safe mode and see if you can target the controller and under the install software option select all for uninstall. Then reinstall all the software.
I've managed to solve the problem since. But I 'uninstalled' the RT softwares by booting up the PXI in Windows (yes, my controller is a dual-boot system), and removing 2 files in C:\ and the entire folder C:\rt. Then I re-installed the softwares using MAX, and it seems to work now. (I managed to get a NI-rep from S'pore to help me with this as I needed it to work urgently). Thanks for replying though!
