strange charaters in vi's

I don't know when but my vi's have strange characters... How do I fix this?

I tried various fonts in environment option but made no difference..

It sounds similar to problems reports in the past where VI's start showing up with Chinese characters.

See http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Why-does-my-LabVIEW-occasionally-display-in-Chinese/td-p/1175603.  It's long, so I think it discusses a few possible causes.

What version of LabVIEW are you using?

I realize that.

But it might be the same problem.  One of the problems was some flaw in the language resource directory that caused it to default to the next language.  For most people who had the problem, it was chinese.  But it could also have turned into another language.  It's possible that is it Chinese, but those crazy symbol languages don't always show the crazy characters because the font isn't fully installed.  So it will show the ASCII character codes from another language page.

Just read through the threads.  A fix in there might fix your specific problem.  Or it may not.  No guarantees.
