Bacground:
I've writen a VI that outputs specific tonal pulses from a standard PC sound card.
I used the sound.vi as NI volume control library as a basis
Since we will be using this application on a variety of PC's, I need to know something about their output levels.
I don't need "lab" quallity standards, just consistancy of about 1 dBV
does anyone know if the "standard" sound cards put out roughly the same drive levesl?

Just to be sure. What do mean then you are saying 1 dBV. 1 dBV is equal to 3.1735 VPP. This is perhaps to high for some sound card. I think the typical sound card output level is 2 VPP

I could have been more clear
I am currently ouputing at a -5dBV, I would like to know that if any/most/some cards put-out a similar level, to 1dBV, ie -4 dBV to -6 dBV
