seriell connection under WINNT

Hello,

I tried to send with the normal seriell VI some characters over com 2 and receive them at the same port. Therefor I make a connector for the PC wich connects PIN 2 and 3. But if I send something, I never get it by reading. Is this a problem of LabVIEW and Windows NT 4.0, because I tried this a year ago under win 98 and it worked.

Hi,
For 9pin serial port you have to connect pins in such a way
2-3
4-6
7-8

For 25pin serial port
2-3
4-5
6-20

For debugging purposes I would suggest using HyperTerminal with your null modem cable. This eliminates labVIEW from the equation and helps in determining if there is something wrong with the serial port.

you will find several webpages that tell how to use this Windows utility.
