Most importantly: how do you want it?

What picture? A picture from file? An IMAQ image? Picture control? A picture from internet? A picture from a camera?

What area? A rectangle? A free form? Both?

What software? IMAQ? OpenCV? Nothing yet? Something custom? Something else?

The IMAQ image control has selection options for a rectangular RIO. It's pretty much take it or leave it, all or nothing deal. If it works, you can add buttons to add the selection. In an event structure, simply add the current selection to an array that grows with each element. Optionally, make a GUI to copy, delete, move, modify, etc. the items.

This can be a 10 minute job, or it can take 10 weeks... Depending on experience and requirements.

The picture was taken by the camera. I want to select an area of interest from the taken picture and convert the area of interest into an array for other calculations.
