scxi-1100 filter

In my acquisition program I read analog inputs of scxi-1100 and all is ok if I don't set a filter at 4Hz.
When I set the filter my program use all the CPU resources if I read 10 S/s and 70% at 1 S/s.
This filter is not hardware?
