samplerate problem

dear labviewers,

I am using a aistart vi to aquire analog data. The problem is that no
matter what samplingrate i wire to this vi, it always uses the default
value 1000 scans/sec. I think it has to do with the fact that airead vi
is in a while loop, cause another vi i made without a while loop doesn't
seem to have this same problem. Can anybody help me out with this
problem? I am using a 'pci-mio-16e-4' which should do 500.000 scans/sec.
