remote panel on cFP-2000

Hi:
I have a compact Fieldpoint system that has an interesting problem at
the customers site. I can see and manipulate the cFP-2000 from MAX, and
I can ping it without problems. If I try to connect to the vi that runs
at startup of the cFP unit, I get no error, but no connection either.
The connection box sits there with the arrows circling each other for
many minutes until I give up and cancel the connection attempt. If I
misname the vi, I get an immediate response telling me that vi isn't
running. I get the similar result if I try to switch the execution
target to the cFP unit. If I forget about the network and use a
cross-over cable directly, I am quickly connected as I should be. This
all seems to be some sort of firewall issu
e, but what do I tell the
network folks at the customer site to change?

Hi,

Take a look at this Kb talking about what are the ports that should be openned to allow NI software to work properly

http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/websearch/FE6A63983AC8289E86256B22005A067A?OpenDocument

In your case, I would concentrate on the two bellow :

* 1024 and Up -- Logos Communication (LabVIEW DSC) (this is also used by FieldPoint.

* 80 -- LabVIEW Web Server (if you are using a Web Server running on the FieldPoint).

I hope it helps
