record sound sample with fixed length

Hi there,

I'm facing a problem that may lead to one of two decisions.

In this project I have to trigger a 0,5s sound analysis, and then record if this is a valid sample. But I don't know how can I perform an 0,5s analysis in real time.

Due to this problem, I tried to record every 0,5s triggered signals, to perform a analysis to a recorded wav file. But the recorded samples that I get don't have all the same length

I´m already acquiring sound and recording and I have some analysis made, but this is not the problem.

The problem is:

- How can I record the precise 0,5s?

This is critical to my project.
