"Run executable at end of installation" not working

I found that the LV installer doesn't run the exe (found in the "Advanced" tab) when the LV runtime engine is also installed in the same process.

If the installer is run again (runtime install not required this time) the exe runs.

I recently upgraded to LV2010 from LV7 and the LV7 installer was able to load the runtime engine and run the extra exe file without a problem.

How can I make sure the exe is run at the end of an installation?

Hello cosborne,

Thank you for bringing this issue to the forum. I just tried to re-simulate the issue you are having. I created an installer and an application and set it up, as you suggested, to 'Run Executable at End of Installation.' I was using LabVIEW 2010 on a Windows XP machine. When I installed the installer, along with the Runtime Engine the executable launched as soon as the installation was complete. I suggest you take a look at this tutorial and see if you are following the correct steps in creating an Installer and an Application.
