The PXIs are starting to support NI RT Linux, and the kernel of Linux provide timestamping of the UDP messages.

 

So you can use solution described in

I would love to revisit this and move to a linux based LV RT on my controller, but alas... The project has been deployed and the budget Gods are uninterested in improvements.  Thanks for the heads up though on PXIe Linux.  I'll start looking at it for other projects.
