Reference material or any guide about developing a vision processing application that can read hand image data from a file and extract specific information about the hand like the number of fingers shown by the hand and if it is a left or right hand. You can assume all hand images are in png files with a size of 350 x 350 pixels. (Without installing any special vision libraries from NI)
A program that allows the user to open a png image file of a hand, and then counts the number of fingers, more processing to determine which fingers are extended and determining weather it is left or right hand.

Is this a class project?
Your question sounds remarkably like this one. https://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Pattern-Matching-find-the-fingers-by-recognizing-the-hand/m-p/40931...

So, use the normal vision libraries from NI...
Or, use special vision libraries that are not from NI...
