plotting 1st column and 2nd column of excel sheet separately

How can I plot 1st column of excel sheet if I am having total 10 columns??

I am new to LABVIEW and have to do it as an assignment

Here's a good resource.

(The total number of columns is irrelevant for this problem, as long as you have at least one column. Is it really a true excel file or just a delimited text file?)

It is delimited text file....

defining number of column is just an example....

I have an excel file with various columns saved as .txt (delimited text fille).

now I just want to plot column of my choice....

What have you tried and where did you gets stuck.

  1. Can you read the file? Yes/No (if No, check delimiters, etc.)
  2. If you already had the 2D array from the file, could you get the first column? Yes/No
  3. If you already had the first column as 1D array, could you graph it? Yes/No

There are example on how to use the report tool kit for Excel that ship with LabVIEW. Take a look at those and see what you can do. If you still get stuck come back and we can point you in the right direction.

Look in the menu bar under help. There is a drop down and examples are one of the choices.

According to message #3, it's just a delimited text file.
