Yeah, but what I find irritating in this method is that the frame is visible. Can I make it transparent ?

Yes, you can.

 

Just rt-click with the Coloring tool (with more concentration) on the Str Ctl border & then the color pallette will pop-up. Then you can press space/tab key to make the border as transparent.

 

But I think this work only for a Str Ctl took from the Classic pallette, not with the modern Str Ctl.

hm..strange...doesn't work..by COLORING tool do u mean this one (pic attached)? In case yes, I was really careful but seems to me that it doesn't do the job.
