It's not the best method, but you can expand the tab control to bigger than the window so that the tabs are out of the viewable area. Of course, this only works if it is acceptable for the tab control to fill the entire window (or least to the lower edge where the tabs are located).
And you could try placing something in front of the tabs and controlling its visibility, but my experience with the previous versions leads me to suspect that either the Z ordering would get screwed up or that it would look really bad.
Thanks for the replys ... I have used buttons over the tabs and that worked fine but some of the other front panel objects appear behind the tab so ... Thanks again ... I will try some different things.
