omit characters in OCR

I was just wondering if there's a way for me to omit characters of smaller size that are on top of the characters that have a bigger size? what I have are characters in 2 different lines (they both differ in size), and I want to use OCR to recognize just the ones that have a bigger font size. I can't reduce the recognition area, because I want the characters to be recognized any where on screen.

Can someone please tell me how?

Thanks in advance!

Hi nando,
-Please download vision concepts manual in this link http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/80C4CF7AFB49D89586257B98006D138A
-In that go to NI Vision Concepts.chm>>Machine Vision Chapter>>Optical Character Recognition>>Concepts and Terminology.
-There you can see, how you can segment characters based on size and spacing.
-Please post your vision related queries in http://forums.ni.com/t5/Machine-Vision/bd-p/200 so that you can get better help.
Thanks
uday
