niModInst refnum class that is being passed not fully defined

I am trying to read / build / modify some old code on a PC that is not connected to the hardware.

The original code was labview 7.1, I am on 2012. I have found old lib's and everything opens OK.

But it will not build because niModInst Open Installed Devices Session.vi has an invalid refnum class.

The error message reads: The refnum class that is being passed into this node is not fully defined.  This is because the refnum is defined using external files, and one or more of these files are missing.

How do I find which files and where they should be?

Hello David,

I have seen a similar error before relating to ActiveX Containers.

If this is something you are still experiencing would you be able to provide more details on your hardware set-up along with the relevant snippets from your VI?
