ni usb-232 drivers for 7

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I use a NI USB-232 converter on Windows 7 Prof 64 bits. Windows 7 says that peripheral works well but MAX doesn't identify it. In MAX, I see "Manufacturer Unknow Model Unknow".

I already have installed the pack NI VISA full 5.0.1 and use the VISA Driver Wizard .

What can I do?

Thanks

François

Hi Francois,

What peripheral is it that you are plugging into the USB-232? It may just be a compatibility issue.

The peripheral is the serial port (RS232) from GPS Autofarm (mounted on a tractor).

I already work with this GPS and LabVIEW 7.1 and it works well. Now I 've changed my laptop (with no RS 232 port) so I try to use the NI USB-232 on LabVIEW 8.6.

Hello François,

Have you tried using the NI Serial driver (http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/2056/lang/en )?

Hi,

I've already installed this one. I contact NI Support and they found that my problem is coming from Seven. I received a way to uninstall older drivers on Windows 7 and now it's OK.

Thank you
