multiple FTDI devices on USB port

Hello,

I created VI which should use 10 FTDI devices on 3 USB ports, via USB hubs.

Program is designed to send and receive information from one device at the time. In this way, there should be no usb overload.

It seams that work fine, and then VI is stacked (sometimes after 8h sometimes after couple of minutes).

Additional, this VI is extended from VI which use 6 devices and worked just fine.

I used Win10.

Can someone give an advice?

Thanks.

Can you try to use your FTDI devices without USB hubs? Are they work fine?

Do you see your device in NI MAX?

Make sure your USB hub has its own power supply. Your computer USB port almost.certainly can’t power the USB hub and more than 2 or 3FTDI ports. Each of them draws power even if you do not communicate over more than one at a given time.

And try a different USB hub if you already use a seperate power supply. Those cheap devices often work but not perfectly.

Hello,

thanks all for feedback.

Yes, all devices are visible in MAX.

For almost two days, i have all running without problem. If program collapse one more time, i will go on USB hubs with external power supply.

Thanks.
