move collapsed group in tree control expands it

In LV 2010, I have a tree control.  If I collapse a group and move it to a new location in the tree, it is expanded when I drop it in its new location.  Is this a configurable option?  A bug?

Hi Thomas,

You can configure this by right clicking on the control on the front panel.

Thank you Joe, but can you be more specific?  I looked through the right click menu already and didn't find anything.  I was looking at the sub-menus of Selection mode and Drag and Drop as well as the Symbol types and the general properties menu.  I tried a few things which seem like they might affect this property, but nothing did the trick.

What item in the right click menu will change this behavior?

Hi Thomas,

I check my settings and I have the following checked

Allow Dragging - checked

Allow Dragging of Parent Items - checked

Allow Dropping - Checked

Allow Dropping of Parent Items - checked

Drag Mode - Move

Give these settings a try and let me know how this works out. If for some reason it does not please post and example that does what you are seeing and look at it.

Attached is a VI that shows what I'm talking about.  You collapse the group, drag and drop it to a new place in the tree, and it is automatically expanded.

I believe I have the settings you specified.

Hi Thomas,

I am sorry I misunderstood what you were saying, the vi shows exactly what you are talking about. Let me talk to R&D about it and see what they say.
