Hello everyone,
I am using DAQ 6008 and wanted to make sure what is the minimum current which it can measure. Also, is there a documentation on how to directly measure the current ? instead of using I = V / R. The reason being my project is temperature sensitive and will be powered on "the entire day". Hence, i am looking for a solution which can allow me to measure current with out change in temperature.
My minimum current to be measured is 1000Amp.

Do you really 1000 Amps?
In any case, there is no way to directly measure current. Read the specs you got with it and you will see the minimum voltage measurement. From there you will need to determine the correct resistance for your current measurement.

If it is 1000A, I'd go totally noncontact- if it is DC or low frequency AC, use a current clamp probe. Going the resistive route, even with a 0.001 ohm sense resistor or shunt, its going to dissipate 1000W P= I^2 * R. That's a bit of heat generation.
