load cell resolution

Can someone help me calculate the smallest change in weight I will be able to read with the cfp-sg-140 and a 10 lbs load cell with a 10 volt excitation and 3mV/V output. I know this module is 16 bit 2^16, but how do I translate this to pounds or grams??? How about if I use a 5 lbs load cell?? Thanks a million in advance for your help....

I actually meant to post it in the Labview forum...

+/- 10V Card w/ 16 bit resolution means
20V / 216  = 0.000305V resolution

So if we have a 10 lbf sensor with a +/- 10 V. 1.0 lbf for every volt times the resolution of your card and the best resolution would be 0.000305 lbf
And if we have a 5 lbf sensor with a +/- 10 V. 0.5 lbf for every volt times the resolution of your card and the best resolution would be 0.0001525 lbf

The amplifier that you used will have to be added for error in this calculations. If you have a zero to ten volt signal then the resolution will also change. Afer calibration the resolution will change slightly as well.

Hope this give you enough info that you can figure out the rest.
