I used them to see if they would introduce any additional "history" or delay or potentially be a cause for what I was seeing.

Thanks for the reference to the fundamental help. I have been using non-latching switches as the front end on my Vi's since that enables pressing a button, having some things happen due to an event...and at the tail end of the event resetting the button as being ready for use again.
