insane object

I get a warning (error message?)

Insane object at {name of VI} at {adress}

Does anybody know anything about this item ?
What kind of errors could it cause?

Best Regards

Basically an insane object is telling you that something that was added to your VI is corrupt. If it has happened recently delete the latest additions and readd them. You could also try copying and pasting your entire VI into a new window. Bottom line is the error will not go away over time and may cause future issues so you'll want to take care of it a.s.a.p. If your VI is fairly small simply recreate the VI to avoid the issue all together.

Hope it helps.

Urs,

Insane objects seem to be created by copy/paste actions to the clipboard.
LabVIEW sometimes mixes things up and you end up with a non-working portion
of code. This proved quite rare to me on LV5.x. However, sadly enough with
the new fancy 3d objects in 6.x it has happened to me *a lot* lately...
especially when using bitmaps etc. on the clipboard...

Gr,
Frank

One possible solution to this problem is to copy the entire block diagram of the offending VI and paste it to the block diagram of a brand new VI. If this doesn't work then you can send your VI to NI and an engineer will take a look at it.
