in cylinder pressure measurement

I'm new to the forum and fairly new to labview and data acquisition.

Together with some other people we are trying to implement an in cylinder pressure sensor (optrand) to measure cylinder pressures while the engine is running with an accuracy of up to 1 measurement each 0.5 degree of crank rotation.

Since the engine can turn up to 8000 rpm this means a lot of data to be processed and made visible.

There are currently 2 main aspects we would like to see while driving and that is the point of max. pressure (ppp) and wheter or not the engine is exhibiting detonation. The detonation shows itself as jumps or smaller peaks in the pressure/crank rotation graph.

The issue is that one graph will follow the other very quickly due to the number of cycles done each second. I'm afraid that it might be unuseable.

How can I use the data and display it in such a way that it would be useable.

Thanks

Yves

Hi Yves,

when you want to detect some pattern in your data you could program some pattern detection algorithm - then only show the results of this algorithm…
