The shift register is not needed in this case (since its a while loop) but it makes the cleen up function to work properly 🙂 (it forces the reference tunnels to be aligned).
Also, I often use foor loops, where the shift registers on references are recomended.
For those who doesnt want to open the vi that we are discussing, I attach a snippet.
About the black frames from the camera. I have no solution to that. Is it camera dependent? I gues it is.

This happens with and without the shift register. What do you mean about the camera being dependent?

If it does not happen to us, but only to you with the same VI this means something else than the VI causes the black frames. Maybe it's your camera or the software that runs between the camera and the VI.

After lowering the image quality it worked fine, which leads me to believe that it was a delay in data transfer.
