how to create files larger than 2GByte

I need to create files with up to 30Gbyte filesize. I tried to create the file in smaller portions and then append those. When I reach 2GByte (I32 limit) I get an end of file error. Anyone having an idea?

Thanks,

Holger

Hi Holger

This seems to be a limitation of LV

Saying this their is the large file library, which is part of the free OpenG tool kit.

www.OpenG.org

To get the libraries you first have to install their OpenG Commander that lets you download and install the available packages.

Also have a look at the application note: Managing Large Data Sets in LabVIEW , especially the section labeled Breaking the 2 GB File Size Barrier. 😄

Altenbach,

I tried what you suggested and it did the trick!

Thanks a lot!
