how to configure a TEDS sensor

I am using an accelerometer which says it has TEDS option enabled. But I couldn't retrieve any such TEDS information from the sensor when I connect to LabVIEW. I am also not able to see the sensors on the DAQ Assistant window unders TEDS category

How can I fix this?

I think you need a TEDS editor which is a basic tool of your DAQ instrument supplier.

They should have a TEDS template database for you to configure the sensor .

What DAQ hardware are you connecting the sensor to? Are the data lines connected?

Hey I am actually using 9234 module on 9174 chassis. Yeah, the channels are detected and are visible under Analog Input but not under TEDS

I don't think the 9234 supports the TEDS protocol. What does the manual say?

Shadow_fax,

Which version of LabVIEW are you using?

The NI-9234 does support TEDS enabled sensors.  Can you configure the TEDS in Measurement & Automation Explorer (MAX)?  Open MAX, locate your NI 9234 under Devices and Interfaces, right-click on it, and select Configure TEDS....  Next select the channel to which the TEDS enabled sensor is connected and click on "Scan for HW TEDS."

Let me know how this works.

I referred the data sheet for 9234, which says it supports TEDS class 1 sensor. So I connected the sensor to the DAQ device and followed the steps which you suggested. I got an error-200741 (Image attached)

Can you follow this procedure to determine the TEDS version of your sensor?

You have the option to use virtual TEDS if your sensor is not supported in LabVIEW.  I've included some references below:
