Hi... From main vi, how can i know perticular vi is opened or not?

I am opening one new sub window from main vi. i need to know the status of sub vi in main window. My sub vi doesnt have any inputs or outputs. it runs seperatly after opening it.

Hi ranjith,

you can use the "Open Vi Reference" function. Connect a string constant to it and insert the vi name into it. If the vi is in memory you will get the referece to this vi and you can check the state or the visibility. If you get an error, then the vi is not in memory and not running.
