There is no built-in functionality to read bitmap files in LabVIEW 4.0. This functionality was not built-in to LabVIEW until version 5.1. If users of 4.0, 4,1, or 5.0 wanted to read in bitmap files, they needed to purchase the Picture Control Toolkit for LabVIEW. This toolkit was included in LabVIEW 5.1 and later.
