front panel not showing controls

i have encountered a very strange thing where very often all of my front panel control displays will disappear. Closing and reopening the vi does not really solve the issue either. none of the controls should be hidden....

If these controls were ever hidden they will remain hidden until you show them. Closing/reopening the BD will not fix that. Find the controls on the block diagram, right-click on the control and select show control.

but that is the strange thing - none of these have ever been hiden, and the only way to get them to show is to first hide them and then show them again. and even after they are shown, they will randomly revert back to being all hidden......

I opened your VI in LV 2012.  All of your controls showed up just fine.

Hmmm a mix od system and modern controls in LabVIEW 2011 (x64 bit?) on Win7 and AVEO theme.

Something rings a bell there but I can't quite recall what

am running x32 on windows 7. will try playing around with the control styles, in case you don't remember which part of the combination is the trick.

aveo theme was the real pain but, I'm still stretching for an example.  It was a post I read, (Should have tagged it but upgraded I to 2012 at about the same time so it was moot)
