error 1722 happens when uninstall an application

I built an application based on Labview 7.1. After I install my application and try to run it, I got the 'Run-time engine(7.1.1) doesn't match with 7.1' error. I followed the instruction in this forum to repaire run-time engine 7.1.1. After restarting computer, I try to uninstall my application through control panel and failed.

"Error 1722. There is a problem with this windows installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor".

Now I can't uninstall and install the application which I build.

Hello,

If you built your application using LabVIEW 7.1, then you cannot use LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 7.1.1.  You should use this: LabVIEW Run-Time Engine 7.1.

Also, in order to help you with the uninstall error, we will need more information.  If you followed the steps in this KB, can you give us some more information on what exactly happened.  For example, you can start by telling us which part of LabVIEW was uninstalling when the error occurred. It usually occurs during the LabVIEW Core-Full part, the LabVIEW 7.1 Runtime Engine part, or during both.

Thanks!

Hi FieldKam,

Thanks for your reply. I also don't want to use Run-time engine 7.1.1 with Labview 7.1. This is a bug of Labview 7.1 and there is solution in the forum and I just follow the steps to fix this problem.

The application I want to uninstall is NOT Labview application but my application. I don't have any problem to uninstall labview and the other NI application which I alread tried. When I try to uninstall my application, it just pop up the message I posted and I don't know at which step the uninstall process is stopped.

My application means I develop a VI program, then build the application and the installer files using Labview application builder. I installed that application in my computer and now can't uninstall.

Is that clear?

Hi,

Running the installer again should uninstall your installer from your computer. From LabVIEW 8.2 onwards, the option to uninstall shows up in your Windows Programs list.

This discussion forum deals with the same issue as yours.
