I'm not entirely sure if this example is what you are looking for, but in terms of reading an alarms level/change values after programmatically setting them you could use an approach like that illustrated in the attached screenshot. Are you looking to achieve this functionality, or are you wishing to read other configuration settings that this approach would not address?
