Are you running the NI Update Server?  When you install LabVIEW, it asks you if you want to run this.  That's how I usually learn about and download/install updates.  With NIPM running the show, it still is difficult, but only rarely requires removing all NI Software and installing it all again from scratch (Famous Last Words) ...

I just ran it, myself, for this Laptop, and it found some updates for current and earlier LabVIEW editions that I'm choosing not to install right now.
