double precision with timestamp vs waveform output

I need an opinion ...

My users use DIAdem to examine data collected in LabVIEW.  They want to display the data both in a graph and in a spreadsheet.  What is the best way to save the data from DAQmx Read function: 

1)  two calls; one for double precision format Y-axis data and one for X-axis IRIG timestamp

2)  waveform format data

They don't want to have to extract the timestamp from the waveform format in DIAdem in order to examine the data in a spreadsheet display.
