does lv know if the started programm is an application or a running top level vi?

hello,

is it possible to query the running programm if it is an applicarion or an running top level vi.
if this is possible i could decide if lv should close (application) or only stop the running vi's.

Just drop a property node on the diagram, and select "properties > Application > Name". The node will return "Labview.exe" or "application name.exe" when your vi is running in the dev environment mode, or as an executable, respectively.

Hi Markus,

there is another property node named App.Kind. This gives you a more detailed information about the current runtime environment. With this property node you can even detect if you are running in the Student edition or under LV RT.
