difference between pci & pxi

i want to difference between pci & pxi.  please tell me the answer only in theory.

in MAx i simulate scope 5105, then i  saw the device pin outs, there  i find front panel for PXI 5105 & PCI 5105. this is the main question . what is the difference between them?

They are very similar in function but have a different shape.

The PCI version fits in a PCI slot inside a regular desktop PC.

The PXI version fits in a PXI chassis.
